Parque das Nações

Parque das Nações is the newest part of Lisbon. Built for 1998's World Exhibition there you can find the most modern architecture opposite to what you can find in downtown Lisbon. The city faces the Tagus River and portuguese tradition has all to do with the sea. Visit the Oceanarium and meet the sealife like if you were in deep ocean

Cascais e Sintra

One of the most well known places near lisbon is definitely Cascais. Located near the sea is the chosen place to go if you like the seaside. Don't forget to go to Guincho and Boca do Inferno and on your way back to Lisbon visit Sintra and taste the traditional cakes, "travesseiros" ou as queijadas de Sintra.

Ericeira e Mafra

If you like surfing the waves Ericeira is probably a good place to go. The open sea, the beaches with white sand and for the relaxing moments one of the best seafood you could ever taste. If you rather prefer cultural subjects don't miss Mafra's convent built by order of a portuguese king that wanted to have a soon to be Portugal's next king.

Costa de Caparica, Sesimbra e Setúbal

If you really enjoy nature, sun, seafood, calm and relaxing spots you can't miss the south of Lisbon. Rent a car, a scooter, go by bus or by train but don't forget to go to Sesimbra or to Portinho da Arrábida. Here the trees go down the hill to meet the sea water and create a unique spot that you will never forget.
